422 creates 3D SARS virus to illustrate how it attacks the human body

422 South created CGI and FX for the BBC Horizon special investigating the cause and effects of the SARS virus.

In just 3 weeks, animators Stephan Pretaurs and Peter Bailey created a total of 3 minutes of CG visualisation showing how the virus infiltrates the human body – this was done in Maya with final compositing and fx by Neil Cunningham on Henry. Terry Hylton directed the sequences.

The producer for BBC Horizon is Sue Learoyd. The programme is directed by Jackie Higgins.

The programme was transmitted on BBC TWO.
