422 South creates titles and content fx for Open University series, Landscape Mysteries.
422 South worked on a 8 x 30 series for the BBC and Open University entitled Landscape Mysteries.
TV6 produced the series, in which presenter Aubrey Manning explores ancient British landscapes to reveal secrets that have remained undiscovered for thousands of years. 422 South used CGI and special effects to create sequences illustrating reconstructions of ancient buildings, landscapes and climates – these included an Iron Age village, a roman harbour, the “sinking” Solent and scenes from Ice Age Britain.
The lead animator was Niall Flinn with other team members including Tom Downes, Jaime Pardo, Pete Bailey and Mark Miles. All CGI was done on Maya. Compositing was done on Henry by Neil Cunningham.
The 422 design team was headed by Simon Clarke. Julien Marien also worked on the project and Matt Cosseratt and Dave Corfield created the title sequence for the series.
The series producer for TV6 is Martin Mortimore and executive producer, Richard Reisz.
The series went out in a at 7:30pm time slot on BBC Two.
