422 South creates Flash game for BBC Blue Planet web site

422 South designed and produced a Flash game called “Ice-Breaker” for the BAFTA nominated Blue Planet web site that accompanied the highly popular TV series of the same name.

The game was structured over several layers. The task of the player was to navigate through freezing waters, whilst increasing knowledge of water density and ocean current in order to reach the final destination – this was all under the watchful eye of Chief Science Officer, Mr Hugh Jiceburg!

The game was praised by the BBC for being both educational and entertaining and it received several awards nominations in interactive games categories, including Interative BAFTA and the Broadcast Awards.

Sally Parsley was senior designer on the project.
