I Shouldn't Be Alive

Major series for Discovery Channel and Channel 4 UK

422 recently completed a total of over 50 minutes of CGI and visual effects for this hugely successful series.

Each film followed the fortunes of one or more individuals who find themselves in dire straits - usually with serious injuries in a hostile environment.

Tight delivery deadlines meant CGI completion was sometimes only a few days ahead of tansmission, but a team of up to 25 CGI artists and compositors were able to meet the challenge.

Amongst some 60 or more sequences, 422 created cgi that flew the viewer through layers of clothing to end inside the body to see the effects of extreme conditions on the heart, bloodflow, muscles etc.

We also took the camera up to a bird's eye view of a scene - to show the storm closing in on the victim, seen from a high elevated position.

422 has an extensive list of digital assets for medical animatuon, including CGI models of all parts of the human body, internal organs, skeleton, nervous and circulatory systems. We also have expertise in mimicing emdoscope, microscoe and sub-microscopic images using CGI.
