The 1981 Assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan - how the president nearly died

Ronald Reagan was the victim of a would-be assassination attempt in1981. 25 years on 422 were commissioned by UK production company Wall to Wall to use animation to ahow the exact path the bullet took on its way to lodgeing near his heart. The animation sequence shows the bullet bouncing off his open limousine door, entering the 70 year old president's body under his raised arm, before lodging in his lung and bringing him within inches of death.

The sequence was directed and composited by vis FX director Dave Corfield, with Maya CGI by David Klein.
